Hi, I’m Kaidi Fang, a children’s picture book illustrator and visual storyteller based in the UK. I hold a BA in Graphic Arts (Illustration) from the University of Southampton and am currently pursuing an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Goldsmiths, University of London.
My practice focuses on creating warm, character-driven stories that explore emotion, connection, and the quiet moments that shape how we understand ourselves and others. Through illustration, I aim to capture feelings that are often difficult to express in words.
Working across picture books, character design, and narrative-led visual storytelling, I enjoy building expressive characters and meaningful visual experiences that resonate with both children and adults. I am particularly interested in themes of emotional wellbeing, empathy, childhood memory, and human connection.
I believe picture books can offer more than stories—they can provide comfort, encourage imagination, and help readers feel seen and understood.
I’m always open to collaborations, publishing opportunities, and creative conversations.
